microstation was originally developed by intergraph and bentley system and is one of the most powerful 2d and 3d design software in all technical and engineering disciplines. the difference between microstation software and other mapping software is that it can provide a suitable database for a geographic information system (gis) and provide the necessary platform for the desired classification and analysis.
by submitting software (or digitally-signed software) through the application programming interface of the services, you hereby grant to bentley the right to store the software, including without limitation to store the software in one or more databases on bentley's computers in the course of performing operations, such as making a backup copy. further, by submitting software, you also agree that bentley will have the right to use such software as part of its business operations. in other words, bentley is free to do whatever it wants with the software. bentley is not obligated to, nor will it verify or confirm that all submitted software is secure or licensed by its authors. bentley is under no obligation or duty to you or anyone else with respect to the submission, processing, storage, and use of such software, including the right to use any such software for the benefit of bentley. when you submit software, you understand and agree that bentley will have the right to commercially license your software to others without requiring any payment or additional permission from you. you are free to pursue your own computer software licensable intellectual property rights (e.g., patent, copyright) related to the software that you submit to the bentley services.
